The West Pakistan Industrial & Commercial Employment (Standing Orders) Ordinance, 1968 commonly known as Standing Orders provide for, among other things, the terms and conditions of service, insurance of the permanent workers employed by the employer, payment of bonuses, stoppage of work, and termination of employment of the workers in the industrial and commercial establishments in Pakistan. Mr Waqar Memon, a labor expert, explains the key features of the law.
